The customer had a chimney leak. There was water running down their fireplace chimney inside their living room. So they called a chimney repair person who came and tuck pointed their chimney. The next time it rained the leak persisted. They called the chimney repair company back. he came out and said everything was good. It has to be a roof leak. Customer then called a roofing company who came out found some problems. Replaced some shingles and made some repairs and the next time it rained, the leak continued, they called the roofing company back. They came out and said it’s definitely a chimney leak.

Using a pair of binoculars, stand outside your home and take a good look at your chimney. At a glance, do you notice anything different in its appearance? Keep an eye out for visible cracks in the chimney, loose or deteriorating mortar between the bricks, or tilting of the chimney as a whole. We also recommend checking for any sign of animal activity, as critters such as birds, squirrels, and raccoons often like to build their nests on chimneys and may involuntarily cause damage.
